Competitions are for Civic Youth Orchestra musicians enrolled in the current performance season only.
Solo Competition
​CYO Symphony and Symphonic Members
Preliminary Round: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Final Round: Saturday, April 25, 2026

The CYO Solo Competition is open to Civic Youth Orchestra members in the Symphony and Symphonic ensembles. The competition will be held over two days with a preliminary round, and a final round. Participants are expected to play a single-movement solo work that has orchestral accompaniment, or a movement of a major concerto. The winner of the competition will perform with the Symphony or Symphonic orchestra at the end of the season. Please follow the link below for competition rules, details, and entry form.

The CYO Recital Competition is open to Civic Youth Orchestra members in any ensemble. Participants are expected to play a single solo work. Multiple winners will be selected to perform in the recital on May 2. Please follow the link below for competition rules, details, and entry form.
